What are the changes to the Publishing Report?

Phenix has released an updated version of the publishing report with a number of changes to make the report easier to use and to provide additional information on stream publishing. 

These changes include:

  • New data

  • Updated column headings

  • New column order

To use this newly-updated report, add ?version=2021-10-20 to the API call. 

The legacy version of this report will remain the default through April 2022, and will be the version returned by the Phenix Customer Portal. When the new version of the report is made to be the default, you can continue to use the legacy version of this report by adding ?version=2021-09-07 to API calls until further notice.

New information available in the Publishing report includes:

Indicates the incoming method of publishing:

  • URI 

  • RTMP

  • ITP-WebRTC

IngestSource

Indicates the source of the published stream. Values include:

  • iOS SDK

  • Android SDK

  • Web SDK

  • Phenix Encoder

  • RTMP encoder (any third-party encoder)

  • REST API (Remote Stream URI)

MultiBitrateTranscoding

TRUE when the system does multi-bitrate transcoding work which will incur transcoding charges; FALSE otherwise.

Repackaging

TRUE when the system does repackaging work (e.g., HLS or DASH encapsulation); FALSE otherwise.

Composition

TRUE when the system does composition work which will incur composition charges; FALSE otherwise.

New Column Order

The order of the existing columns has been changed to better group similar items. For example, the capabilities column has been moved ahead of the columns containing output details (e.g., rtmp). 

The mapping of legacy columns to new columns is shown below. New columns are shown in bold, while the new names of renamed columns are shown in italics.
