Overview

Updates and New Features

New and updated features in the most recent release of the Phenix Customer Portal include:

  • Improved performance for better user experience

  • Generate and copy permalinks (with EdgeAuth tokens) for publishing or subscribing using the page accessed via the "Permalinks" menu item from any Channel in the Channel list. You can select the duration and capabilities for the link. These links can be used as-is, embedded in web pages, or the token portion of the permalink can be used as you would any EdgeAuth token.

  • Resolution and frame rate in frames per second (FPS) shown for video previews in the Details view

  • Improved capabilities selector for activities such as Fork, providing easier selection of options and links to the API documentation

New reports

A number of new reports can be accessed after selecting a specific Channel from the Channel list.

  • Available under the Analytics menu for viewing and for download:

    • Fork History (source and destination, status of request, etc.)

    • Concurrents (number of concurrent views for the Channel)

    • Ingest (underruns, in milliseconds, useful to see the connection quality, especially for RTMP ingest). Even if the underruns are too small to be seen on the graph, downloading the report may show a pattern of smaller underruns.

  • Messages (messages as described in the API documentation)

  • Improved approach to adding capabilities when creating a forked channel (#CC-287)

Rooms View

  • Improve visual indicator for room status - friendly appearance (#CC-285)

  • The Permalink that is generated and displayed is an active link that will open a new tab (#CC-343)

  • Search in list views returns matching items with stream present state (#CC-341)

  • Permalink URL hostname must be the same as the hostname of the backend-uri (#CC-342)

  • First query parameter in Permalink should immediately follow the '?' (#CC-354)
